Australian industrial producer, Brain Industries, says it’s making a giant push into the North American, Central American and South American markets, signing an unique distribution agreement with Strata Worldwide USA for its distinctive air operated pumps. The firm’s first US distribution settlement will see Strata market and sell Brain’s Airloader and Mudskipper pneumatic pumps to the mining, tunnelling, and seaports markets.
Managing Director, Gillian Summers, stated the massive American market has the potential to double Brain’s pumps business. Summers mentioned initially the pumps might be designed, made, and exported from Newcastle. She also mentioned Brain may look at opening a pump manufacturing plant within the USA. “There appears to be nothing like our pumps obtainable for the US mining and tunnelling sectors,” Summers said. “Strata Worldwide knew of Brain’s manufacturing capability as we make its emergency refuge chambers for the Australian market. The interest from America in our products reveals that the Hunter and Australia’s manufacturing sector is alive and properly, and a significant a part of the economy.”
General Manager Strata Products USA, Josh Behling, mentioned the three way partnership makes a lot of sense and the merchandise match Strata’s geotech portfolio. “Based on the quality and efficiency of Brain Industries’ pumps, we’re excited to introduce them to our clients and others available within the market,” Behling said.
The Airloader pumps deal with just about any flowable materials including sludge, or slurries with solids – even sand. Unlike standard vacuum displacement pumps Brain’s compressed air pumps combine excessive velocity suction airflow with a powerful vacuum. The pumps are available a range of sizes as either gravity discharge pumps or stress discharge pumps. The Mudskipper pump is Brain’s smallest and hottest pump. Summers stated Brain’s pumps haven’t any internal moving parts which makes them extra reliable and longer lasting than another pumps. She mentioned pumps can be provided in DNV GL compliant frames – necessary for the mining and tunnelling sectors. “Brain’ diaphragm seal are secure for pumping in hazardous areas and their low top makes them best for confined spaces.”
As well as pumps, Brain designs, manufacturers, repairs, and certifies a spread of industrial tools together with conveyor pulleys, pulley lagging, conveyor dewatering techniques, stonedusters, oil diffusing methods and polyurethane merchandise for the Australian and worldwide markets. The family-owned business is based in Newcastle, NSW.
